Fusion "Preferences" dialog is un-readable

I'm trying to establish visual display settings in Fusion that would be "low-vision friendly", as I have a lot of trouble with low contrast images and text displays etc.  Some time ago, I had (somehow, but don't recall how!) set the background for Design mode to Black (or perhaps Dark Gray), but that wasn't working too well.  I made the mistake of reverting to "Default Settings", and now trying to get things back to a usable state.  BUT, when I open the Preferences dialog, under e.g. "General", all I can see are the states/contents of checkboxes and dropdowns, but NO TEXT describing what's what! (From the format/layout of this dialog, it would appear that such text would be on the left side of the right panel).  I am at a loss how to proceed.  Any thoughts? Thanks for any insights!  (screenshot of dialog attached)
