Fusion Offline, why can't I rename a configuration?

Fusion's servers are currently down, which is unacceptable to begin with, especially during a work day. The saving grace here would be that offline mode still works, except for reasons that escape me, re-naming a configuration is an online only feature. Why? What does the name of the configuration need the internet for?

This is adding insult to injury over the outage, a critical oversight. I don't expect a fix, I'm just highlighting that this is not acceptable.

When you rename a Configuration from the Configuration Table, we send a call to the cloud data storage service, and sync the name in all locations (Config Table, Browser in CD, Browser in referencing designs and drawings, Insert/Derive/Drawing dialog, Properties dialog, Properties tab, etc.). When we rename the configuration from table, we need to update the data lineage too which is not possible when Fusion is offline. This is also applicable to workflows such as renaming of any document from the data panel.

I appreciate the explanation, makes sense you'd want that information to sync.

Sorry I got a little frustrated yesterday with the outage. It was easy enough to work around, but in the moment it ticked me off. Configurations have been a great addition to Fusion and something I've started to incorporate into our main product library models. I understand it's still a relatively new feature though that has some short comings (I have an active ticket for mass values not updating when you change the configuration in a drawing).

Thanks for your explanation and help, I do appreciate your teams hard work in keeping Fusion going.

It's no worry, totally understandable. Thanks for the kind words, I'll pass them to the configuration team.
