Fusion not updating anymore

Anonymous
Not applicable

Lately everyone seems to be posting all kinds of interesting new features they have from recent updates, My fusion used to update all the time but now it doesn't seem to be updating anymore. Is there something I may have done to stop updates?

I also used to get messages showing the new features but sadly I don't anymore.

How do I find the version I currently have and what version is Fusion on now?

thanks.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for posting in the community!

To check which version you are installing in the system, can you please go to the [?] icon (help menu) - "About" and look for the version number in the attached image?

The latest one is "2.0.3800" as of today.

If it is not the latest version, you may try to clean-uninstall using the automatic cleaner tool.

Then down a fresh installer from Download Free Trial in this web page.

Hopefully this helps!

Thank you.

Thanks for your help, I did as you said but my fusion is not on the correct version, I'm waay behind! Oh no... why does this happen?

I'm worried that I will loose all my files and preferences and tool library's by uninstalling fusion.

Do I need to enable cloud somehow? If so how? I think mine might be turned off.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for the reply!

To check if it turns on cloud, you would please look at the Job Status icon as the below image:

If you are running Fusion in online mode, data has been saved in cloud - if you log into your Hub's Dashboard, all the data that you'll find saved there is stored in cloud.

This means you'll have access to this data if you sign into Fusion 360 from any computers!

Removing Fusion 360 will not impact your access to data since your data should be synced to the cloud.

The automatic cleaner tool gives you the option to keep you locally cached files, so you may want to check this out as well.

For tool libraries, if you have created them in the cloud, this forum thread might help.

If you have them in local library, they will be able to export a file (*.tools) - then you would import it to cloud library.

** The menu shows up as right-clicked on a folder.

For the preferences setting, I am not afraid it is able to backup as a file or maintain after clean-uninstalling.

Hopefully these help - if you have any questions, please let me know.

Thank you.
