Fusion not functional after latest update - Education license

I updated my Fusion as prompted and now itis completely non functional. I tried reinstalling and updating my OS, everything is the most current version it can be but after Fusion slowly loads if I click create sketch the workspace turns dark grey, the planes flicker and then the whole program freezes, if i try other tools, like Extrude no origin point appears.

The built in bot says that because I'm on an education license I cannot get support. I am the class teacher, I use this product with all of my 9-12th grade class and 4 STEM Racing (F1 in Schools) teams - I'm surprised that they would actively promote this product to schools but not offer support.

Any suggestion?

Thanks,

Amy

You're on a Mac, I see; what version (OS) and model computer?

@amywPNUMN To extend on what Seth asked, do you have any pending macOS update? If so can you update the macOS and see if that helps?

I'm on a 2023 Mac Pro with Sequoia 15.4.1 - I did the OS Fusion updates about 2hrs ago so should all be on the most up to date versions available - thanks

@amywPNUMN To kind of reset, can you please try the below?

1. Logout and Close Fusion
2. Go to Launchpad - Uninstall Fusion
3. Go to

  • Macintosh HD>Users>(username)>Library>Application Support>Autodesk>Autodesk Fusion 360>
  1. Delete Folder Autodesk Fusion 360
  2. Delete the Fusion launch icon (from desktop or where you have it)
  3. Restart the Mac
  4. Download the installer again
  5. Now install Fusion

Hi, just following up to see if there was any more advice after I filed the report? I have been uninstalling and reinstalling every few days but nothing changes - I need this product for my classes - If it cannot be repaired please let me know as I will need to start researching alternatives for next year. Thank you.

Hi @amywPNUMN ,

I am from Fusion Engineering Development Team.
We were not able to find any substantial inputs related to lagginess in Fusion from the report 104890.
It would be a great help, if you can please re-record the workflow again via Report Performance Issue and send the report number here.

Thanks,

As I state in the report summary and above, the program freezes as soon as I click new sketch and try to select a plane. A large grey square appears and slowly replaces the screen. I have attached a screen recording. The only thing that has changed was the update I ran, the program has not functioned since.

Hi @amywPNUMN ,

Just for checking purpose.
Can you please try to turn off the Layout Grid from Navigation Toolbar and Sketch Grid option from Sketch Environment?
I just want to check if the issue is related to Grid.

Thanks,
