Fusion does not start (0x00000002)

Hello,

When I try to launch Fusion, a error message appears.

After reinstalling Fusion I can only launch it one time before the error appears again.

I've inspected the fusion files, I think the error is caused by the main .exe that... simply do not exist.

What can be causing this issue ?

Thanks, Alex.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Generally - if an exe goes missing, especially after a second launch, Anti-Virus is coming into play. Do you have any anti-virus on the computer. Have you seen this article on Configuring Anti-Virus for Fusion 360?

@James.YoumatzNo I do not have any antivirus on this computer, but I discovered that I still can launch Fusion using the desktop shortcut :

C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\6a0c9611291d45bb9226980209917c3d\FusionLauncher.exe

But I can't launch it using the taskbar.

Thanks, Alex

Hi @Anonymous ,

If you remove the pinned taskbar launcher for Fusion (right-click, remove), then put the Fusion launcher back on taskbar, does it work?

Thanks,

Hi @James.Youmatz ,

Yes, I did this method and apparently the shortcut works again.

Thanks a lot for your help!

Alex.

Thats exactely what happened to me. It seems my antivirus put the .exe into quarantine so I had to restore it and add an exception.

I am having the same problem, but removing the taskbar icon did not help. My antivirus did quarantine something called "IDP.Generic" before I started having the issue.

I have the same issue, but am getting an error saying 'FusionLauncher.exe.ini is missing or incomplete'. I cannot find such an ini file! This started yesterday, I opened Fusion and I got a message saying it was now updated and it promptly crashed. All the above solutions have not worked for me. I cannot un-install fusion because I get a message that the uninstaller is not available, and I can't re-install because it tells me that it is already at the latest version!

I too am stuck with a non-working piece of software.

After the Sept 2002 update Fusion 360 will not start more than once after a re-install.

During that one-shot run F360 will crash and will not restart.

I have revised anti-virus exceptions, updated graphic drivers, uninstalled, rebooted and reinstalled endless times.

I still cannot use Fusion 360, and clients are screaming at me.

Remind me again why I'm paying for this software?

Is this what you had to add the antivirus exception for?

Hi guys. Today when l was in good mood and wanted to work a little bit on my personal project, but in the moment l started setting my second monitor, Fusion said there is an error and just closed. I was confused and tried to start the software multiple times, but with no success. And then l thought that maybe avast secure have sended another file, that ends with "exe", and l was right. The "threat" that my antivirus software has found is called "IDP.Generic" and i tried every single option, that is given to me, but nothing worked. I tried to restore it, nothing and i tried to restore it and add exception, nah, didnt work. Please, if somebody has found solution, please tell us what you did. I dont know if l should even try to restart the software, but for now i will wait for somebody to say something wise. I am getting sick of this thing, because i have spend so much effort in my projects and in the end it will be all lost time.

I am having the same problem. Avast quarantined the IDP,Genaric.  Cant get it to reinstall or restore with exception because it says it already exists. I am hesitant to delete the original file in the original location hoping the restore it from Avast.

the returned error is same as above with the command line file listed as the .EXE  Deleted and reinstalled the desktop shortcut, no soap.

So far I've tried:

  • Deleting my antivirus app and rebooting
  • Deleting and reinstalling Fusion 360 -- as others have said, it works once, then fails
  • Trying to execute Fusion360.exe and FusionLauncher, exe files directly
  • Deleting and recreating the shortcut

Same problem here. Was using Fusion 360 after it updated and restarted and out of the blue it was no longer on my screen. Tried starting it as an administrator even and got the same error. Uninstalled Avast (didn't keep it updated anyway) and still no dice. I'm not sure where to go to install Fusion on my computer again so I haven't uninstalled it yet. Really need Fusion 360 running as I have a lot of work to do...

Can we revert this 'Solved' to 'Active' please?, this solution is obviously not working for myself and a lot of other folks! Thanks
