Fusion Crashes on local rendering

Hi I'm trying out Fusion 360, and the redering module on different setups.

Lenovo Thinkpad P40 Yoga

Microsoft Surface Book with Performance Base

Dell Precision M5520

While I'm trying to render the same model on the three machines, both the Dell an Surface Book Crashes, while the P40 does it just fine.

Have missed something in the setup of the graphics card?

Drivers etc?

Thanks for posting! We do have some known issues with crashes during local rendering - I had a look at your crash reports and it appears you are experiencing a known defect, logged internally as UP-37674. I have made a note of the problems you have described on our development teams ticket for this behavior. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention!

If you can record a screencast illustrating this crash and share it on the forum, it may help our development team recreate the crash and find a solution.

While this problem is addressed by the development team, using the In-canvas render option may help you work around it. Once the render settles, you can use the Capture Image command to save a picture file of the render. You can save as either a PNG, JPG, or TIFF formats. It also seems like cloud rendering is working properly for you, so you may be able to render your designs on the cloud to avoid this behavior while it is investigated and resolved.

Thanks for the quick reply, I was hoping to do some high resolution renders, but then I'll have to rely on the Cloud render. Hope you'll solve this soon.

Thanks for posting! While the development team has not yet found a solution to this problem, the issue is actively being investigated. I'm happy to provide any updates I can while they continue working.

I did not see any crash reports under the email address associated with your forum handle - please let me know if you use a different email address to log into Fusion. If you have not been submitting crash reports, please do - these reports help us learn more about the crash and help our development team prioritize their work.

That would be great if you could keep me updated as this is a real issue I am concerned about. Smaller projects it allows me to render, it is only when I place more than one component in the scene to render. I am also unable to use the diagnostic tool due to this also crashing fusion 360.

I am experiencing the exact same issue. FYI I am running the render on a desktop PC with a Ryzen 5 1500X and a Geforce GTX 1060 6GB with 16GB RAM. I am willing to provide any evidence, just let me know how. Thanks.

Still, it crashed !! I have GTX1080, 16GB ram and i7 processor. But it crashes after render, but not just close the software but also the computer is shut down

I can't use rendering at all other than in-canvas. Local rendering causes Fusion to crash and cloud rendering says "your rendering could not be completed because an error occured. This is with a fresh file with a cube placed in the scene, nothing else. I am on a Macbook Air running OS11.1 and Fusion 360 v2.0.9512.

I am using a 32GB ram 16xprocessor Dell i7 precision and I still get this error, it freezes when trying to render. Please update

it's 2023 and even an almost maxed out macbook pro with latest OS is still crashing on local render?

why do we have to update almost every week and still basic functionality is not working properly, in fact re-producing problems that have been around for at least 5 years…?!?

I suggest you create a new thread and share your model so problems can be reproduced and taken care of.

Also share your logs.

You are making invalid assumptions that this has been an ongoing and frequent issue.

I render frequently and don't see this issue at all.

Trippy lightning, it is a frequent problem, just because you have not experienced it does not make it infrequent.
I have worked around the issue and am working with 360 to determine root.
I won’t be uploading anything for use, if you would like to see logs and history maybe don’t start your ask by telling the user their problem is not valid.

I have to admit that I am baffled by your reply!

I have spent time on this forum almost daily for the last 8 years.
Obviously this happens frequently to you. However, based on post on this forum it is not a frequent occurrence for other users, including myself.

Of course you are free to not share your log files or designs or anything else.

In that case your post was completely pointless. Reading minds of users or even their computers is way beyond my pay grade.
