Fusion crashes at "Preparing your experience" screen on MacOS Seqioa

Hi all,

Im a long time user of Fusion/F360 and this is the first irresolvable issue I have encountered.

Recently Fusion decided to hang on splash screen at "Preparing your experience".

The application window title reads "Connecting to your data - Autodesk Fusion (Education Licence)".

Strangely, the text on the splash screen itself appears as "reparing your experienc".

When this all began there was initially no error window so I force quit the application.

Have attempted repair, reset and reinstalled.

I have had limited success with resetting in the sense that Fusion will run successfully once. The next time Fusion opens it will crash.

I have error logs on hand. Please advise what you need and I will give it to you.

Thanks in advance,

Tim

@verketa

Can you please try this?

1. Logout and Close Fusion
2. Go to Launchpad - Uninstall Fusion
3. Go to

  • Macintosh HD>Users>(username)>Library>Application Support>Autodesk>Autodesk Fusion 360>
  1. DELETE the following folders – Webdeploy, Web Services, Identity services, Autodesk Fusion 360 ((IF you do not have any other Autodesk products installed, delete the Full Autodesk folder)
  2. Delete the Fusion launch icon (from desktop or where you have it)
  3. Restart the Mac
  4. Download the installer again
  5. Now install Fusion

Hi Rajkumar,

Thanks for the quick response. I have followed all the steps you have given. I even deleted the Autodesk folder completely as Fusion is my only Autodesk product.

Sadly, its opened fine the first time then if I close and open it again it gets to the same splash screen and throws the same error window.

Is there any further info I can offer you?

MacOS gave this crash report just now when attempting to open Fusion again if this is of any worth.

@verketa Interesting. Let's try a couple of things.

1. Make sure there are no macOS updates pending
2. If there are update it and then see if launch still is an issue
3. If it continues to be an issue then quickly create a new user on the Mac and install fusion on that user and see if that has the same launch experience

Based on what you see from the above we can decide next steps.

Thanks Rajkumar,

There weren't any updates pending.
I created a 'Test' user account and installed Fusion. I can open and close
the app without issue.
There must be an issue with my user account.

@verketa Some setting or some other installed application is causing this issue then. Would you be able to run a "repair of macOS"? Not sayin that that would solve it for sure but the crash seems to be crashing in the system.

Thanks Rajkumar,

I've run a MacOS repair via Recovery then I uninstalled and reinstalled Fusion. No change. Still locking up at preparing your experience and throwing up an error. The following log files are generated. Are any of these of any help?

Hi Rajkumar,

I'm pleased to report that Fusion notified me of an update. After that was
installed I have been able to close and reopen Fusion five times
consecutively without a problem. Its seems to have been corrected.

Best regards,

Tim
