Fusion 360 Simulation Stuck

Trying to run a simulation on Fusion 360 but it remains stuck at 1% (5% in the "Solving" when you break it down). I have updated Fusion 360, tried it online, tried it on multiple computers, and tried to save the file as a new file name and re-solve. My internet has been stable while I have been running the simulations.

Hi @agepfert067,
Could you attach the diagnostic log file?

  1. Restart Fusion
  2. Open the design and send a solve for the study
  3. Go to the Help pull-down > Support and Diagnostics > Diagnostic Log Files

The log file might indicate the problem causing the solve to be stuck.
Also, I'm curious if this is happening with a particular design, or does a solve get stuck for any simulation?

Best regards,

It is happening with one specific design but I am only trying to run one specific simulation. The design has very complex geometry but I am unable to simplify the design or mesh. I mentioned earlier that it stalls at 5% but occasionally it will "fail" in the receiving stage of the simulation but I am not able to see what fails.

Thanks for providing the log files. The document name is called "Femur" and I'm guessing that the model is a 3D scan of bone that has a very high number of face facets from a mesh body? If so, it is recommended to convert the mesh body to a TSpline to greatly reduce the number of faces before using it in simulation.

Yes that is correct. Does converting to the TSpline alter the geometry of the design?

In theory it shouldn't alter the geometry significantly, although I'm not familiar enough with TSpline conversions to be 100% certain this is true in every case.
You could insert the mesh body superimposed on the TSpline body for a visual check.
