Fusion 360 not responding roughly every 10 mins when offline

I use a hotspot a lot and supposedly I can use fusion offline, but the reality is I have to turn on my hotspot if I don't want it lagging (menu bars go solid black and windows shows the program as not responding) for several minutes at a time, 

Can anyone help/advise?

Are you letting Fusion detect if you are offline or are you manually switching Fusion to offline mode?

i haven't changed the default settings so I assume it's on auto?
