Fusion 360 Needs to install to different drive

I need to install Fusion360 to the A Drive because the C drive is relatively small. Even when I try to force it using command prompt, it just times out. Other forum answers (falsely) claim that it much be installed to the C drive to update. Fix this to let us choose the drive to install to.

Hi,

Thanks for posting this request. Unfortunately, Fusion 360 must install to the C drive due to the way it is constructed, which is unlike applications that allow you to select an installation location. Thanks for understanding, and sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

As an Autodesk user for nearly 30 years and now my son is getting into 3D modeling this drive C issue needs to be resolved. Programs need to be stored on drives other then C due to limited operating system functions.

Hi, thanks for responding. Can you please describe the operating system function limitations of the C drive that are affecting you?

With modern OSs you should be able to map the %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Autodesk directory to point to a directory on another drive and once you have done that let Fusion install on C as it likes. It won't know nor care that the files actually end up on another drive as long as that drive is available at run time.
