Fusion 360 freezes permanently after some time of inactivity

When i leave Fusion 360 and the computer in general idle for some time it causes Fusion 360 to freeze in an unrecoverable state. This has happened on a number of occasions, but may not happen all the time . Its possible and even likely at some point during the inactivity there may have been loss of internet connection. However Fusion should be able to recover from that but in my case it doesn't seem able to. Also attached screenshot. The logfile extract seems it did have some connection issue earlier.. I can confirm that even after at least several minutes of having a verified fully working network connection it was still hanging.

This had happened sometime earlier..

This is the last few lines of the log. Not sure if that is normal logging or problematic logging though. But a return code of 200 sounds like normal.

Hi,

Sorry for the trouble. This issue is being investigated as a top priority. It is related to intermittent network. Are you on wifi? (which might cause network drop-outs, and then the hang).

Thanks,

@gerardsweeney @sean.tapscott

If you are still seeing this it would be best to post log files along with your questions.

This will help greatly:

1. Leave Fusion open for a long period of inactivity until you repeat the problem

2. Restart Fusion and gather log files. (Help > Support and Diagnostics)

3. Post the zip file here. Glad to take a look.

So, I was only asking about resolution on this because I had a similar problem, but no one responded to it. In terms trying to get support from a forum, I thought I would search first before posting, but both options were ineffective.

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/fusion-360-hanging-on-startup/m-p/10177191#M117232

Luckily, I was able to resolve mine by continually uninstalling and reinstalling each time it closed, until I found that I could clear the notifications if Fusion 360 was in an offline state.

I no longer see this problem so I presume it has been resolved.

I have this problem all the time. After sitting idle, especially after closing my Macbook Air (2021), Fusion will claim it can't connect to the internet, freeze, and pretty much need to be force quit and restarted.

Completely unrelated to the original problem, but thanks for posting. Mine
happened on Windows, with an Ethernet 900mpbs connection to the internet,
and would not reopen without a completely clean reinstallation.

I have been having this issue for months.  I thought it was just a hardware problem with my computer, but I am glad to find this thread and know that I am not alone.   Today it locked up my whole computer while I was actively working on a model.  The computer hadn't been idle for more than 5-10 seconds when it stopped responding completely.

Attached below is the log zip file that Fusion generated after I rebooted and restarted Fusion.  I hope it contains something useful.

Thanks for the logs. I didn't see any web errors in the logs, but I did look at your crash report history. Your most recent crash report from June of this year shows Intel GPU drivers from May of 2021. It's nothing definitive, but might be worth a trip to the Intel site to update if possible.
