Fusion 360 for students not activation after trial version expired

Hi All,

I wonder if some one could help me out. I am working in Oxley college and have installed a fusion 360 trial version for 20 kids. I didnt download it though rather i installed it from a USB. They have created an account, register themselves as well and than apply for student license. For some reason it is not activating. They can work on fusion 360 but they cants save any of their work. This is a bit important as they have their fusion assesment coming. Do i have to uninstall it and than download it from autodesk website and the whole procedure again? Any help would be greatly appreciated as at this point of time i am in no mans land.

Hi @Anonymous,

welcome to Fusion 360 Community Forum! I believe you went through a Lab installation of Fusion 360, which is a correct choice in your case. You might double-check if you followed all the steps correctly: Fusion 360 Lab install process.

From what you described, you keep having troubles with step 8 and the student's licenses are not activated and a "Trial has expired" notification appears in Fusion 360 user interface. You might try the suggestions described in the following knowledge article for one station: "Term has Expired" or "Usage Limits Exceeded" message appears in Fusion 360.

If that does not help, let me know so that I can escalate the case to our Educational Support Team.

Thanks!

Hi Pawel,Thankyou for your prompt reply. After clicking on subscribe now, i put student as education profile. Do i have to tick educational role ? is this the mistake i am doing ? I am installing it individually on their devices.

Thanking you in anticipation !!!

Hi @Anonymous,

thanks for the update. I assume you are referring to "Subscribe now" button in Fusion 360 already. Could you send me a screenshot of the choices that you have? Thanks!

Hi Pawel,

Thankyou so much. Unfortunately i am not in college at this moment but i will explain it to you step by step. Will share screen shot with you as well tomorrow from college.

1) Every student is having that subscribe now icon.

2) After clicking sbscribe, new window will pop up asking for what purpose you are using fusion 360

3)Than after clicking on see if you qualify, 2 windows will pop up. 1 saying already have done this step press continue..

The second window with create account or sign in than register and than download

4)When i click sign in and after credentials, asking about country and education role. I always put student. Than asking DOB, about institution, enrollment and graduate dates etc.

5) After that register

6) Once register, i dont normally download because i have already downloaded from the website. So after register i switched to other tab already have done this steps, press continue. When press continue it will come with a message that the activation will take couple of hours. but its been 4 days now and havent activated yet. On a safer side i deleted fusion 360 for couple of students, install it again after register. But still no luck.

7) However this is strange that after clicking see do you qualify, it doesnt take me to that option which is mentioned in this link

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How...

In mine case, 2 tabs will open. one for sign in, than register and download, while the other tab telling if you have already done these steps press continue

Hi @Anonymous,

this seems to be a correct procedure. To investigate this behavior, we are going to need some additional data including the email addresses of the students. I am opening a support request with our educational support team - you will receive further details in an email. Thanks!

Hi pawel,

i have 2 questions now. As we discussed earlier the student accounts are not active yet. However i was able to activate my account which is [email protected]. Since this account is activated can i dedicate this account to students? would they be able to use my account credentials to log in to fusion 360. The reason i am saying is they have assessments coming up and cant save any of their work.

The other thing is i was able to activate my account but another student account my IT manager was trying to activate failed. ([email protected])  is the account which for some reason is giving the error when try to register.

Any help would be highly appreciated
