Fusion 360 cannot open file browser

Hi

I have used Fusion 360 for few years for 3d printing hobby. With the latest version Im not able to export to STL or import an SVG because the browse function is not working. I dont get any errors, there is nothing on the log. Opening Fusion on Administrator dosent help. I unistalled, deleted files that are in the installation location and installed whole application again and it didint help.

Im using Windows 10 Pro 64-bit version with Intel i5 CPU and 12G ram. Fusion was at version 2.0.5338 and now is at 2.0.5357 neither is working. It worked last year and started at december when I started to use Fusion after a little break.

Do anyone have any suggestion  how to fix this issue? I have tried to google some answers but nothing that would be even close havent turned up.

Screencast will be displayed here after you click Post.

Hi @Anonymous

Can you try attaching your screencast again? It's not showing in the post.

Hi @Anonymous

You might try resetting the layout to default. The dialog is probably just off screen, so doing this might bring it back up to  your display. Sometimes this happens when you use multiple monitors or change screen resolution.

Also - if I remember rightly the window that pops up here is a windows dialog window - you might try bringing all windows to the main screen.

Let me know if that helps.

Hi

@karina.harper Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately those didint help. Tested both.

What is not showing on screencast is that when I try to export Fusion 360 crashes after a while. It does not do that on svg import. I edited it out because it showed my email.

Ok - so this file browser issue only occurs when exporting an .stl? And you get a crash directly after?

Crash happens only exporting STL and the browsers does not apper when importing SVG and when exporting STL. Crash takes like 15 - 20 seconds or so.

Ok. Be sure to send in all your crash reports - that is really helpful for us.

I have seen others that have had issues exporting STLs but I've been unable to reproduce or get enough info. I have your crash report now which will allow me to send this info to the devs.

If you could share the file (even if it's a generic test file) that would be stellar.

What worked for someone else was uninstalling and reinstalling fusion.

Can you try that for me and see if it works?

Hi

@karina.harper Thanks for the help. Clean install with the specific unistaller fixed the problem. Many thanks.
