Fusion 360 account for my son

Hi my son would like to play with fusion 360. He already has a Tinkercad account for which I am the parent.

When we try to install it on his laptop it signs into autodesk on his child account and then comes up with the message

"Ooops"

"Your account cannot be processed at this time"

How can I fix this and get him onto Fusion360?

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

Is his TinkerCAD account linked to an Autodesk ID?

As long as your son is 13 or older then they are eligible for an Educational Autodesk Account to which he can attach his school to and get access to the educational community.

If he's under 13 then you could set up an Autodesk Account and get a Fusion 360 Personal License which will keep him busy for a very long time, then once he hits 13 he can get a full account with educational entitlements.

Hi Leo,
My Son's Tinkercad account is linked to Autodesk via an Autodesk account that I had to set up and then verify his Autodesk account id. However, we cannot seem to download Fusion360 via his login.

It keeps coming up with the same message.

Thanks

Can he use his user id login for Autodesk for Tinkercad for Fusion360 as well? If so, can you tell me how to do this?

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

I've been tinkering about with Tinkercad and if it's his tinkercad id rather than an email address then I don't think you can.

If it is an email address then I'd suggest reaching out to support and can correct the error: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/contact-support

However once he is 13 he can get educational entitlements so he can access all of Autodesk's products.

Hi Leo,

Ok, it is his Tinkercad ID.

So in that case I'll setup an account with an email address for him.

.......... or would it be better for him to use my account with my email address?

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous,

It depends on whether you use Fusion or other cloud products as if you have stuff there is important then him having his own account reduces the risk of any acidents, you'll just have to be vigilant (I am not a lawyer) and keep tabs on him, if you want official guidance I'd reach out to support but if he's just using your account then it's your responsibility. As I've said above, when he's old enough he can get an Education account which is very good with all the features enabled.

Hi @leowarren34 ,

I created an Autodesk account for my son and downloaded fusion360 personal. When we open fusion360 and login, it asks us to set up a team but it doesn't allow us to type anything in for a team name and we can't move forward from this point. He doesn't really need a team on a personal account so how can we fix this and continue into fusion 360?

Thanks

Hi @Anonymous;

I found a thread relating to this, go to https://login.autodesk360.com/login/signup?product=fusion&edition=business

Create your team

Restart Fusion 360 and you should be on your way.
