Freeze and crash when editing dimensions on drawing since latest update

Running version Fusion 2.0.20981 x86_64 on Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (26100.2605)

i9-14900HX with RTX 4080 (mobile)

Since the most recent update I'm getting very regular freeze and crashes when trying to open up tool bar items. For example, double clicked a dimension to chance it's settings. When I double click, nothing opens. Try double clicking another dimension, same again. Then try to save the document, and fusion crashes.

It would appear to me what ever triggers the 'pop up' when you interact with something is causing the crash. This is only happening since the most recent update.

An issue I have had for a long time is when I ctrl+P to print, the screen darkens but the print dialog doesn't show up. I do wonder if this is related?

Regarding to the high rate crash in Win11 24H2, we are working on issue investigation actively, and try to provide the fixing early. Before the fixing, we could suggest users to use Fusion on Win11 23H2 temporarily, if customers are blocked by this issue. Thanks

@liang_chen thanks for the reply, however rolling back windows is sadly not an option with my computer. Given it's brand new, 24H2 is the earliest I can roll back to.

Sorry to hear that. It is a high priority ticket and we are working on the fixing.

Is there an ETA of this constant instability, especially within the drawing environment, being fixed? It's becoming almost unusable with the constant crashing. Most of the time I'm also having to kill it via task manager, so guessing you won't be getting the reports either!

For reference, It's current 0815. I started work at 0730, and have crashed 4 times since starting. And I've not even spent all that time in Fusion, as I've been doing some stuff in the workshop.

We are working on this issue, and the internal ticket is FUS-180294. The fixing could be released in the latest update once fixing is ready.

@liang_chen is there no work around for this? I know when it's going to crash, before it does. Is there steps to be taken to avoid the crash.

For example, if I'm dimensioning up a drawing and click on a dim to change it's properties, and the dialog box doesn't show, then I know it'll crash. Is there steps I can take at that point to stop the crash?

This is issue is seriously effecting my work output.

It is a kind of memory leaks in the new version of Win 11. I am sorry that there is not a workaround to avoid the crash when run into the bad status (Dialog does not pop up).  Before the fixing, we could suggest users to save the drawing work regularly.

Thanks for your support and patience.

Rolling back is apparently not an option on this PC

It is related, and I am sure for my Medical Device Software dev - that it is related to a Modal Dialog call in Fusion. Especially the 'Save Version' Note pop-up - as that is using the 'Windows' dialog container and not a fusion environment dialog.

I agree, Fusion is crashing within about 4-5 minutes of 'drawing' change and updates.

Fusion WILL detect the crash IF you Alt+tab away from Fusion and tab back again...

Otherwise you get the Windows 'Bonk' signifying your are clicking off a 'Modal' dialog box presented from a windows application.

I posted this to the forum here:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-support/fusion-lockup-win11-from-hidden-fusion-dialog-box/td-p...

As a programmer, it is *very* clear to me that problem is Fusion is calling a Windows container Modal dialog box from within Fusion, causing this overlap dialog block.  This is a known pitfall of programming in the Windows OS and easy to fix.

What is terrible is we are doing Drawing Redline review meetings on Zoom - Live with Fusion and Fusion is crashing: over, and over, and over and over...again...

So fun and builds confidence in the team!

I looked at your forum and my issue is similar but not entirely the same, i will stay in fusion drawings the whole time and it will still crash, no switching taking place at all, just dimensioning pieces to be fabricated, although i do have dual monitor set up, do you think that would also cause it since my mouse can move between the two systems, or i guess that might make the issue worse, since this issue still occurs when i am at home, and i just run  fusion on my laptop at home, but i run dual monitor at work. Ten pages of drawings just took me about five hours to finish.

I ALSO have a dual monitor system...that would exacerbate the problem - being able to click away from Fusion.

Also, I have Messages for Windows-  which pulls Windows focus when my android phone gets a text....I've seen this cause Fusion to lockout...
