I repeat the usual T-Spline modeling guidelines:
1. Model 80%+ in box view mode (looks like you've done that).
2, Only add detail when you are 100% satisfied with the overall shape and proportion. The more geometry/polygons you add to the control cage the more difficult changes to the overall geometry will become.
3.Here's what's killing your model: You have numerous N-gons (polygons with more than 4 edges) in your model.
Model in quad faces only. 5-sided N-gons are OK but still, they are better avoided. NEVER use a triangle in a T-Spline design.
4. Model symmetric parts centered about the origin. That is valid for all 3D modeling!
This is the canvas image after you are modeling the garbage can after.

In Fusion 360 I would not model this with T-Splines. Not that it can't be done, but it is easier to do with the solid modeling, or surface tools.
