Fix Simulation Stock Mesh Calculation

Hello,

I am writing because there's something that really annoys me with Fusion360's CAM simulation. When Stock has been machined and there's a piece of material that is no longer attached to the main model it remains floating in space. This is especially annoying when simulating 5-Axis jobs when you contour the outside of a part to reveal fractures to mill there's still floating remanence of stock attached to nothing causing arsenious excessive collisions. I've tried the preview features that seemed that would fix this however they did not. I'm only a student and need access to simulation at home and it would be nice since we are using Fusion for CAD/CAM to be able to simulate with it as well and have an accurate representation of what will happen to stock when real physics are applied. If this is possible to add as a preview feature I would gladly give feedback for testing and validation because it is very weird to leave stock that has no attachment to the main model floating causing collisions that wouldn't normally exist. Thank you for your time I look forward to seeing some type of solution to this problem.

Kind Regards,

Vincent

This has been an issue in the CAM Simulation since day one, you're not alone in your frustration. If I recall HSMWorks (for Solidworks) has/had an option for removing remnant pieces like this. Unfortunately, it didn't make it's way into Fusion.

That said, I'm not aware of any imminent plans to improve this experience...

Thank you for your response. It would defiantly be nice if the feature was added for simulation purposes since our school doesn't have a true 5-Axis machine.
