Files with large configuration features not really nice

Hi all!

I use the configuration feature to prepare clamping devices.
Three-jaw chucks with different jaws are perfect for this!

However, if I have lots of different jaws, the configurations are no longer as much fun as expected.

The window for the configurations simply does not work properly, it just wastes space!

This was definitely NOT really tested!

Also, when I add a new jaw and thus get a new column in the configuration list, it is apparently not possible to reverse all rows of this column in the selection.
Selecting several rows and then rearranging them as a group does not seem to be possible either.
I have to set each row in the column individually. Selecting and inverting all would be nice! Maybe I just haven't found it, it would also be possible! If I am wrong, I would be very happy if someone could tell me how to do this?

Hi @marcus.toepke

Thanks for the feedback. We are working on a config table UI overhaul. The issues you are describing are certainly valid - I'll make sure we have it recorded.

One minor thing that may help in the meantime - the empty gray space is a bug. If you drag the Configuration table off of the edge of the screen (undock it), the empty space is removed. There is still a maximum height for the top table though.

Cheers,

Karina

A few other things:

  • We're working on a feature that will improve what we call a "suppression matrix", where you have a column for each inserted design and then it's suppressed in every row except for one.
  • Also, one workaround when you are adding a column that is suppressed in every row except for one - if you suppress the feature then configure it, it will be suppressed in every row by default. Then you just have to turn it on in the one row where you want it active.

Cheers,

Karina

I have marked your answer as a solution, but when I move the window to the second monitor, it unfortunately remains as it is.

So I am eagerly awaiting future updates

That empty space problem is incredibly annoying, glad it's been mentioned! This would be good if it was completely filled out:

Spent the last couple of weeks inputting data into configuration tables, and their UI can be pretty infuriating!
