File Search Function

What's the secret to making this useful? I have many models over my 10 plus years of Fusion use, sometimes I can't remember or find a file. In using the search function, it is pitiful.

Search "keyboard" and it can't even find the file that you just opened. Search "tray" still zero results. It's unbearable.

Hi @chris.lN44N4 ,

I understand how frustrating that can be, especially with a large design history. Search should absolutely be able to find a file you just opened.

In many cases like the one you describe, this ends up being related to the local indexing or cache getting out of sync. When that happens, search results can appear incomplete or return zero results even though the files exist in your Data Panel.

A few things to try:

  1. Restart Fusion completely
Close Fusion fully, wait a few seconds, then relaunch. This often refreshes the local cache and restores search behavior.

  2. Allow time for indexing
If you recently migrated data, renamed files, or opened a large number of projects, indexing can lag behind temporarily.

We can dig deeper if needed, but in many cases a clean restart resolves exactly what you are describing.

Sort solved, I guess.

I use Fusion across three or four work stations. It seems the search function relies on indexing that is generated by opening files.

That's of no help if I haven't opened the file on the new workstation. And I can't open the file if I can't find it.

So... task failed successfully I guess.
