Feature Request - Corner Chamfers

For the purpose of breaking pointed edges, please add the capability to create a chamfer based on a single point and edges leading to it. The chamfer plane would, by default, be oriented normal to the construction line that intersects all edges and is equidistant (in terms of angles) to all edges of that point. You might be able to add more parameters from that default position, like the angle the plane from that position.

If there is a feature like this already, please let me know. Thanks.

Can you help to provide a picture to show your expected result? Not very sure your purpose.

Thanks,

Steven

Thanks for your quick response.

Detailing my steps,

1) Create cube.

2) Create transparent construction circle with diameter of the cube's longest diagonal between vertices.

3) Create construction plane tangent to a face at a point choosing construction circle face and cube vertex.

4) Create sketch on tangent plane for extruded cut.

5) Extrude cut from tangent plane into the cube vertex.

Thanks for sharing the details and it is very clear for the requirement. I don't think this function/feature is available now. Usually,  some workarounds like yours can do it but need many steps. I just tried another workaround for your reference. Refer to the video: https://autode.sk/3CVfE7R. But please note to give the right size of the initial chamfers.

Thanks,

Steven

Having a new tool isn't bad but what you want can be achieved easier than above steps (which work only for a cube and not a generic corner).

For equidistant you can follow @Steven_Gao 's screencast which is very easy (if you need X mm cut from corners apply a X/2 mm chamfer to its edges, then delete 3 faces). For multiple distances you can make sketch on one face, Include 3D Geometry and select edges, put a Point on each edge at the required distance. Finish sketch and make a Plane Through Three Points. Use this plane for Split Body, and Remove the unwanted body.

include 3d geometry.png

I have attached an example file.

Thank you for these workarounds @Steven_Gao and @hamid.sh.! Much easier than making a construction circle.
