Save me autodesk forrums, your my only hope...
Im tring to run an FEA analysis on a bridge. So far ive been able to get results with the support surface using a FIXED constraint (in x,y,z) but with this test, the support pad twists due to the flex in the bridge and tells me the pad isnt strong enough. In real life, this part will have supports that can rotate slightly, meaning the support pad wont be shearing when under load.
Exaggerated result from fusion. This is a section through the centre showing support block, which would really be parallel to the top surface...
Ive tried to simplify the arrangement and replace the FIXED support with PINNED supports. Heres a snap of the setup.
And heres a closeup of the constraint.
My understanding is i want to leave tangential unpicked, so that it rotates with the flex of the bridge under load...
However, no matter what i try it always comes back an error. Ive reduced this model down to the minimum number of bodies, tried every mesh setting by %, different combinations of restraint and mixed restraints but still cannot get it to work...
If anyone can help me set up the correct constraints for this i will be incredibly grateful!
