F-360 says i have a graphics card problem

Problem with my newly built computer (or maybe Fusion 360?).

I just finished building an upgraded new PC as my old one was starting to give me problems. See .jpg #2 for Speecy details on the old and new domputers.

F-360 worked fine on my old computer but is not working properly on my new computer.

F-360 seems to “think” there is a graphics problem. F-360 does open on the new computer but there are several problems:

1. Several seconds after opening F-360 the following message pops up:
   1. “This computer graphics driver or hardware may be limiting performance”.
   2. The message suggested running  F-360 Graphics Diagnostic which I did. See .jpg #1.
   3. As you can see the Ryzen 5 5600G driver were updated on 05/23/3023.
2. Some of my documents won’t open at all.
   1. I exported 1 file (this file won’t open on the new PC) as a .f3d and the .f3d file did open on the new PC. I could edit and save it and it would now open. But it opened  with the same “error” message about my graphics card.

I've replied in a newer post you've made. Looking at the image below your system is only reporting 512MB of memory. That's half of what your old system had! Can you allocate more to the GPU?

Wow, I never noticed that. Now I am 89 so that is a little excuse.
Thanks for getting back to me on this and I bet that is my problem. I
will change the GPU part of the CPU memory up and cross my fingers. I'll
get back with you on the results. Thanks again

I found a bit of a conversation about this on a gaming site here. It seems like memory should be dynamically allocated so not sure if Fusion's just complaining because it doesn't know more memory can be allocated. You have 32GB of memory so I doubt you're running short. It looks like you should be able to adjust the minimum in your BIOS, maybe try 4GB and see how it goes.

After setting my vram to 2g the popup message across the top saying:
“This computer graphics driver or hardware may be limiting performance”
no longer pops up.

Unfortunately the “bad” designs still wouldn’t open and the “good”
designs would open. So the popup message evidently had nothing to do
with some designs not opening.

I tried a few things that mostly confused me. Most of my designs are
rather simple. Woodworking jigs, repair parts, etc. I then tried to open
several “Read Only” files and they all opened. I need to search this
more thoroughly as I only tried about a dozen.

So I went to the old PC and made a “bad” file “Read Only” and closed
f-360. I tried to open this file on the new PC. But it still wouldn’t open.

Then, on the old PC I opened the “bad” file and made a simple
modification (1mm extrusion on 1 side and then reversed the extrusion
and saved the file as version +1.

This new version (which is actually the same as the previous version)
now does open on the new PC.

One other thing I tried late last night, on the same file that I just
got working, on the old PC I “Saved As” with a new name. I then tried to
open that file on the new PC. The new file almost immediately showed up
and it could be opened on the old PC. BUT the new PC showed the name of
the file but the file never actually appeared even after 10 minutes or
so. It just kept showing a rotating “Wait” symbol. This morning the
“Wait” symbol was still there. So I deleted the new named file from the
old PC and the file is also gone from the new PC.

Because of all the tinkering of my files I no longer have any known
“Bad” files I can try to find a solution for. And if/when I do, I have
work arounds. but I think I still have F-360 problems on the new PC as
F-360 randomly just shuts down. But that is another story.

So, for now, I guess we can close this problems post, And I do want to
thank you for all your assistance. One question: You said it’s best not
to attach images, In the future (if needed) should I imbed the images in
the text?
