Extruding text into a solid, works sometimes, but mostly not?

I was following a knowledge base demonstration, where I make a quick solid plate and then start a new sketch on the face and add some text to it, then extrude that test inward to make a cut out. I do not know what is happening, but my first line of text in my test worked! Any attempt at repeating it with another line fails.

Inconsistent edge/face relationship.

What might I be doing wrong? 
BTW, I did just stop my sketch, and my first extruded test is missing letters in the extrusion.. 
The order I did things was to make the solid, select the surface for the new sketch, add some text and extrude it down -5mm which worked. Then add the two Unicorns as SVG's, then add more text.. Could the insert SVG mess up my solid?

Started over, and now getting the error right off the bat...

I believe the problem is your choice of font. Some don't work for extrusions, usually the cursive ones

I would have thought that as well, if it had not worked once. Like if it rejected the Script font always, but works say with the Arial default every time. 

I'll whack together another screen cast of it failing out of the gate (freshly rebooted PC that is) with Arial, and then working once with Segoe Script.. It's plain nuts... (and driving me nuts)

I gave up trying to get any sort of repeatable results using text. It would work part way through a text object, sometimes the whole 3 word text object, but never my whole plaque.

i went through the pain of exploding the text, extruding it -.01 just so it would create a bottom profile that was contiguous.. used that in the engrave path, and it worked.

the many extruded objects brought fusion to its knees though.. but it’s carved.
