Extruding into Red

Hi - Newbie to F360… have sketched a 2d guitar body (traced an imported file using fit splines). Geometry is closed, but when trying to extrude it goes into the red. I thought the Z might be reversed so tried extruding in the opposite direction and it won’t move at all. I even tried creating an offset plan to extrude to but when trying to do so it says the selection is not visible (althoug it’s unhidden in the browser and profile is turned on. 

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Body Folder Visible?

Possibly a legacy setting, but body will be created, if the folder is not visible, you get the announcement.

Please share the design and preferably a video.  The "red" (Cut operation) is usually only shown if the extruded profile intersects another body.  Do you have an existing solid body in your design?  Sometimes just manually selecting New Body will force it to create a new body.  I'd still like to see the design, though.  Thanks.
