I have an arch model where I want to add some support "rails" along the bottom and top parts of the arch. The arch will have alignment nubs so that the parts will "lock" in place. I am sure I took the difficult road. I drew the profile to match the Arch and then extruded it to the correct length. Then I created a sketch on the face the is butting up to the alignment nubs with a space for clearance. I tried to extrude the faces to align with the upper portion of the rail and tried to extrude to an object and selected the face of the rail and I get the error. I think it might be because the object face I am selecting to extrude to isn't parallel to the face that I am trying to extrude?
I can extrude it to a distance and get close, but I am wondering if there is a way to extrude this so that it aligns with the edge exactly? Or just get it "close enough"?
Is there a better way to do this to begin with instead of drawing a profile and then adding the "fill"?
