This has bothered me for some time. Perhaps my extrusion methodology is the problem.
Say I create a sketch on a part face, sketch a profile, and then want to extrude that profile. Fusion tries to autoselect or "suggest" profiles to extrude. If I want to extrude the profile I just sketched, I sometimes have to make many different selections if the profile is broken up by profiles belonging to the face the sketch was created on. I turned off "Allow 3D sketching...", "autoproject edges on reference", and "auto project geometry on active..." in Preferences>Design. Hiding all bodies does not help.
I have noticed that creating a construction plane first then sketching on that does solve the issue. But I was hoping there's a simpler solution.
The attached screenshots should help describe the issue.
Created sketch of square on the top face of this part.

When attempting to extrude:
I want to extrude only the square I sketched without having to select all the suggested profiles.
Also, I realize that doing a window select would work in this case, but would not work in all cases and doesn't seem robust.
Thanks in advance.
