Extrude, Objects to Join Feature Request

When doing an extrude cut with multiple bodies visible, you get the option to select or deselect objects to cut. Why don't we have that option when it comes to extrude/join?  Now, you have to hide one body in order to prevent unwanted joining.

I think it makes a lot of sens! It would make for a more consistent interface.
