Extreme sketching lag

Hey guys, loosing my patience with fusion here.,,

I have a body of a skateboard on which i sketch outlines to cut the skateboard. i have more than 20 sketches which are not complicated but the lag is extreme. I started to design with the history capture off, recently when i learned about it i turned it on. Maybe is this the problem, i dont know.

The program also takes allot of time when generating in manufacture.

You have a lot of sketch, not visible, in the browser so we cannot tell what is in the background.  Please attach your model so the forum users can take a look at your model.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a forum post to attach it.

I know hot to cut/intersect... I am having issues with EXTREME lag while i sketch.

Did you try to edit any of sketches, did it lag to on your computer?

which sketch?  Which operations?  I tried editing the one visible sketch in this design (8.875 Pool), and it was quite responsive.  So, we need more information.  Certainly, if you have a large sketch with lots of geometry and constraints, and especially if you have large sketch patterns/mirrors, sketch will be slow.  But, I don't see that in the sketches I looked at here.

Ok, so the problem of laging is not in the number of sketches but elsewhere. But where? Should i reinstall the fusion?

I suspect something with history capture. I think i started sketching on model with capture off, but later by approximatelly 20th sketch i turned it on.

It lags just drawing a line in any sketch in this file or repositioning the view.

I realized that if i choose to view ( or edit in edit base feature) any of sketch 9,25 OG, 9,25 CR and 9,25og2 it works fine, but if i choose to view any other there is extreme lag.

I'm lagging tremendously myself in the sketch environment, and it doesn't matter how complex or simple the sketch is. I don't know exactly when it started happening. Either a Fusion, Nvidia or Windows update, but I haven't noticed lag anywhere else in my system, so I'm suspecting a bug.

Attach your model and let the forum users take a look.

I did a bit of editing and then a new sketch but did not experience your described lagging.  Can you point to specific sketching processes that are giving you issues?

The second sketch in which I projected a couple of lines from the first sketch and work over them is pretty laggy. The screen refreshes at under 1hz on that one in my computer. It's pretty generalized in my computer (which is up to date with Windows 10 latest updates). I performed a Windows 10 fresh install not very long ago (I would say maybe 6 months ago). All my Fusion settings are set to a minimum, I'm not running shadows nor reflections. My computer runs an i7-8750H and a Nvidia GTX 1070 Max-Q. As I said, it doesn't happen all the time, but it's very common across the board in all kinds of sketches, and it started happening very recently (I would say a couple of weeks ago or so).

I will add, everything else runs smooth as butter. It's just some random sketches here and there, and only when said sketch is visible, or I'm editing one of said sketches.

I would imagine the best thing to do is record a Screencast when this lagging occurs because it is going to hard for anyone to realize, and possibly fix, your issue unless it can be seen or replicated.  Not that your word is not good enough but the developers have to have something to put their finger on.

I'll try to give that a shot later in the day when things slow down a little. Thanks.

@Anonymous  Have you tried changing your graphics driver in preferences to OpenGL?

I changed that from auto-select to open-gl and that seems to have improved things quite substantially. There's still a minimal initial stutter when opening the sketch environment, but I can definitely live with that. Thanks!

I'll try the two DirectX options to see what happens with that. I was playing with another sketch right now and it seems like for some reason the lag is linked to some elements not fully showing on the screen either. I had been having that bug as well where all of the sudden several sketch elements would completely disappear, and saw that happen briefly in a couple of sketches today. Will report back later when I investigate a little bit more.

Ok, changing to open GL seems to work. There is no sketch laging in this model or as @Anonymous said "There's still a minimal initial stutter when opening the sketch environment, but I can definitely live with that."

When generating in manufacture, still takes quite a long time thoe, but the day is saved.

Thanks
