Extreme sketching lag when using a pen

Hi, I'm running into a new problem with pen input and am looking for ideas.

I use Fusion with a Surface Pro 7. I like to use the pen input when working with sketches. However in the past month or so something has changed and the pen input is almost unusable. When I drag a sketch item with the trackpad, it is responsive, but if I drag it with the pen, there is a lag that seems to build up the longer I use the pen, and it's easy to get into a situation where the sketch drag is several seconds behind what I did with the pen.

I'm not seeing this problem in other applications when using the pen. Also, I see the problem when creating a new sketch in an otherwise empty document. And, as mentioned, it does not happen with the trackpad.

I've already tried "Limit Effects to Optimize Performance" (from Graphics Diagnostic). I've also reinstalled Fusion and made sure the Windows power settings are set for maximal performance.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Unfortunately, the July update did not fix it.

I'm still having the problem. Does pen input work for anyone using Fusion?

I am having the same issue. Surface 9pro with surface pen. Surface pen lags drastically when using sketch. Track pad works fine. Only started after recent Fusion updates.

I'm also having this issue. Has anyone opened a support case with any luck?

Isn't this forum meant for bug reporting? I would open a support case but I doubt I can because of my student license

Please, anyone having this issue, try to open a support request. I have done so but mine did not help. If several of us try, it will help the issue to reach the development team.

I'm also getting this issue. Mouse and track pad work fine, but using a stylus is so unbelievably slow that is unusable. Can't even draw a select box without waiting a few minutes! Shapr3d is smooth like butter in comparison.

I raised a ticket and provided Autodesk Support with results from my own testing. I think if Fusion could, at the very least, treat the pen input as a mouse then this issue would go away. I say this because when I used remote desktop using TeamViewer (which treats the pen as a mouse input), my experience was very fluid.

A development ticket was raised by the Support team: FUS-170210

Rog flow x16, same issue. I saw pretty close situation with navigation in 3ds max viewport when user used his "gaming" mouse with it's incredible device polling rate. The problem was solved by limiting this frequency in mouse software. As I understand different pen devices forced to pole pen position and pressure rate constantly unlike even "precice, fast" gaming mouse, which have intermittent nature of movement and send its position only if it moves. Also as I know pen behavior in game engines viewport is pretty bad too. Despite this I had perfect experience using Wacom intuos tablet in 3ds max/maya viewports and had no problems with lagging with touch function turned off. But using graphic tablet display or portable tablet pc without touch function is pretty useless idea..

Here the video

Please, letme know id there is a settings that fix that or a bugfix is required.

I am not using the original surface pen, but it cannot be the problem because it works well on every other apps.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you, that's what it looks like for me, too.

What pen are you using at this moment? It is seeming like it requires an active stylus, as a finger/pointer is still responsive. For what it's worth, I am on a Lenovo X1 with their ThinkPad Pen Pro.

This will likely require a code change on our end, but am continue to search for a workaround in the meantime.

I have a surface pro 8. Fully updated firmware and Windows. I have slim pen 1, slim pen 2 and a non name pen. The issue persistents with all three. Same on battery or offf and at any performance level. With egpu plugged in via thunderbolt 4 or on internal Intel iris
