Exporting IGES files

We have had a laser cutter for 4 years now and Fusion still cannot export a IGES file that can be read by the CypTube program. This program I believe is the most widely used.

Solidworks appears to be the only IGES file it can read.

Is there a chance I have missed something in the export preferences?

It is such a drag to have to open another program and change an 'IGES file' to an 'IGES file' when you are doing 50 at a time.

Is there any solution?

It seems the issue is with Fusion 360's IGES export not being fully compatible with CypTube's requirements. Check the export settings in Fusion 360 to ensure you're selecting the right IGES options, or consider exporting as a DXF if possible, as it's often better for 2D cutting. You could also automate the conversion process using SolidWorks or a free program like FreeCAD if SolidWorks isn't an option. Make sure both Fusion 360 and CypTube are updated, and you might want to check with CypTube support for specific IGES version requirements.

happy new year regards

Thank you. I forgot to mention it is for cutting tubes. So a DXF wont work. I have tried many softwares and it appears that Solidworks is the only one. I believe But not certain, it has to do with NURBS.

For tube cutting, where NURBS are likely critical, it makes sense that CypTube might only handle IGES files with specific NURBS formatting, which Fusion 360 doesn't fully support. If SolidWorks is the only reliable option, automating the conversion process within SolidWorks using a macro could save time for batch tasks. Alternatively, you could explore whether Fusion 360 has an add-in or script to improve its IGES export for NURBS. Reaching out to CypTube support for precise IGES specifications could also help clarify the issue and identify a more efficient solution.

Take what I say with extreme caution, while have and occasionally use solidworks, I am mainly a F360 and Blender guy.
