Errno2 Cannot install after a uninstall

When I had Fusion installed, downloaded the latest update it would hang at 22% or so. Restarts etc no change

Figured I would just uninstall and update manually to new version. Downloaded and it throws a Errno2 cannot find files at 47%

Yes I have googled this and tried to maually thumb through folders and the Registry getting rid of folders etc.

Of the three posts about it I tried the solutions and did not work for me.

Attached is the Log

Appricate the help~

Hi @malzraplaneswalker ,

Sorry to hear that you’re running into this issue. Could you please follow the article below and see if it helps with installing Fusion?

"Problem installing Fusion [Errno 22] Invalid Argument" when installing Fusion

I have the same problem... My best guess is that the installer trips over the character length of the path (273) as even when I manually extracted the files to the right location, the installer couldn't find the files either even though they were clearly present...

It's highly unfortunate, but if autodesk doesn't fix this issue soon I'm just done with Fusion 360...

Hi @spekkie_island @malzraplaneswalker @anissomai1993

Looks like the long name is causing the problem.

Can you please check by changing the registry solves the problem?

  1. Go to windows registry editor. [Windows - Run - regedit]

  2. Navigate to FileSystem and change value from 0 to 1

That did indeed fix the issue. Still, why is it nested so incredibly deep? We certainly aren't the only ones facing this problem and clearly not every program has this issue as I was able to unpack everything successfully using 7zip...

Apologies for the problem.

This is caused by one of the new file "QTSimCloudCreditsNotificationInsufficientLevelWidget.css" we have introduced, and the file name is big.

We are fixing this problem in our next update.

This problem is caused only for the users with longer usernames.
