End of life on Big Sur

I read that Mac OS 11 Big Sur will be supported until March 2024 but it's not clear to me what will happen after that date. My Mac is not supporting a newer OS. I read here that:

Fusion 360 will continue to work on the operating system after the March update, but will no longer continue to update. Eventually it will stop functioning correctly, as it no longer meets the minimum system requirements to run Fusion 360 .

It says that it will "continue to work" and "will stop functioning correctly". It doesn't say for how long it will continue to work and what does "correctly" mean. Of course I won't be able to update or reinstall it. Does it mean that I will be able to use the latest supported version on Big Sur forever?

@ioakarin @You are correct that in March 2024 you will stop receiving the ability to update to the new version. If Fusion is uninstalled, then you cannot install on an older version again. 

Regarding if you can use the then version you have forever, theoretically you can but at some point will have to go into the offline mode since services that are required for Fusion cloud will stop support. We try to support all the services on unsupported OS between six months to a year.

I think going to offline mode let us use the app for 2 weeks. So on an unsupported OS, would we be able to use it in offline mode forever or will it become unusable after two weeks?

@ioakarin you will need a token refresh for which you will have to come online. This is now 340 days and not 2 weeks.

I have to reply again because I still use Big Sur Fusion stopped receiving updates. I can still open it but I'm not sure for how long.

I used it offline and after 2 weeks I got a message that I have to go online to continue using it. So the 340 days don't seem to apply in my situation.

I read here that Fusion won't launch if you haven't updated to 2.0.15775 (released on April 2023) before July 31, 2023. Version 2.0.15775 dropped support for macOS 10.15 Catalina. So I suspect that the next update will be required to be installed before July 2024 to launch Fusion afterwards. Am I correct? Is there any way I will be able to use Fusion on Big Sur without updating?

@ioakarin Can I ask which version of Fusion you are in currently? 

1. As of our March update, we will not be supporting macOS Big Sur and here is what this means. 

a.) You will not get live update any longer on this machine
b.) If you uninstall Fusion for a y reason you will not be able tp reinstall an older version
c.) You can use Fusion online - At this time we do not have any timeline on when Fusion will be completely blocked from usage
d.) We will give at least six months of notice if we will stop the Fusion from completely running on Big Sur.
