Edit in place, missing functionality

I am working in a assembly, and I have created  a new external component.

While the new external part is selected, I'm trying to change the opacity, but I can not find the option (I have edit in place enabled)

In order to change the opacity, I have to open the file > select the top level > change opacity

Is this behaiviour normal? shouldn't this option be available for edit in context?

Edit in place is not designed to support all commands, yet.
