Drawing Workspace Not Opening After Update

Has anyone had an issue opening the drawing workspace after the latest big update? Drawings I made two weeks ago no longer open, but the model files do.  And if I try to start a new drawing the workspace just crashes.  Software is up to date, I tried doing a clean install as well.

Hello @jac9467LKR

Sorry to know that you are facing this issue. It's a known issue and team is also having a look at this issue. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to reproduce the issue.

It seems similar to this post Can you please give a try to the steps to see if it works?

Updating the graphics card from the vendor's website had helped some customers so far.

Thank you,

Best Regards

I went through the post you linked.  I already did a clean uninstall/install, which didn't help.  I also tried updating my graphics card as well, which also didn't help.

I think my issue is slightly different.  Fusion itself doesn't crash, just the drawing workspace.  The drawing file will begin to load, the file name will pop up at the top of the window, then the Data Panel starts to refresh and the drawing workspace closes.  I've tried clicking on the file to open drawings, opening the drawing workspace inside a model file, starting a new drawing, all with the same result.

If it helps, I'm running Fusion on Windows 10 Pro, version 20H2, 64 bit, Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060.

Hello @jac9467LKR

Sorry for late reply. The team is still looking into this issue. I don't really have a big update as of now. Could you please try uninstall and install Graphics Driver? Also, can you please check if manually setting the Fusion3 60 not to use nVidia card helps. I think we can set it through nVidia control panel.

We are very sorry to know that you facing this issue. We are working on this problem as the highest priority. But,  unfortunately it's proving trickier. I will keep you updated once I get more information.

Thank you,

Best Regards

Rohit, I was away from my computer for a few weeks.  Fusion did an update this morning, still had the drawing workspace issue.  I did another clean uninstall, the issue remained.  I found the nVidia control panel and made sure all the drivers were up to date, the issue still remained.  I set it so that Fusion used the other Intel graphics card and I could open and work on drawings.  It was very slow, but it worked.  This only lasted for an hour, and then the drawing workspace started crashing again, so the issue seems to be more than just something with the graphics card.

Hi,

Without warranty*:
Create a new user (WIN/MAC)** install Fusion and launch the application with your "old" Fusion account.

Hello @jac9467LKR

This is a very strange issue. Recently we helped another customer with same issue where, the customer upgraded Intel graphics drivers. And it helped.

This is exactly what our support team asked the customer to do and it helped. I am sorry but, could you please give this a shot?

1. disabled the integrated graphic (in device manager)

2. changed graphic setting to Nvidia graphic card (in Nvidia control panel)

3. In Fusion 360 graphic diagnostic, toggle on " Limit effect to optimize performance ".

4. Restart Fusion 360.

The biggest challenge we are facing is failing to reproduce this issue. That's why it's become difficult to debug. We are also trying on our side to see what's the best we can do.

Please let me know if steps above help solve the problem.

Rohit, that seems to have worked. I disabled the Intel graphics card in the device manager and set Fusion to run on the nvidia card in the nvidia control panel with the limited effects option selected in Fusion.  New drawings can be opened from the model workspace with no problems for now.  Old drawings are having a new issue.  The files open, but there is like a spiderweb of black lines all over.  It almost seems like the dimension leader lines are glitching, because when I zoom in close they disappear.  I'm going to mess around with it and see what happens.
