Drawing workspace browser

The browser tree in the drawing workspace has a behavior that I find extremely annoying.

Lets say I have drawing file with at least two sheets. On the first sheet I have a few base veiws. and they are neatly collapsed in the browser tree. Then i switch to another sheet that contains at least one base view, and then I switch back to the first sheet again. Now every instace in the browser tree is expanded.

I would expect Fusion to remember what was expanded / collapsed for each sheet when switching between them. Is it just me?

Hi @christopher_hermansson

Thank you for the detailed description, that is helpful.

I have a couple of questions to better understand what is happening:

  1. Does this occur every time you switch between sheets, or only after certain actions such as editing a view?

  2. Does it happen in all drawing files, or only in a specific one?

Could you please share:

  • A short screen recording showing the behavior

  • The drawing file (.f3d or exported drawing) where this is occurring

That will help us determine whether this is a design limitation or a regression.

Once I can reproduce it locally, I can confirm whether this needs to be logged or if there is a workaround.

Thanks for bringing this up.

Hi @dsouzasujay

1. Yes, every time. No other actions than switching sheets.

2. Yes in all drawing files.

I made a screen recording but the browser tree was invisible in the recording. Doesn't matter if it's docked or undocked. Maybe something to look into as well?

I will not share my file. This behaviour is consistent over all my files and it has been so for years. I'm sure you will be able to replicate it.

Thanks for sharing the feedback. Currently, drawing browser won't be maintained when switch drawing sheet, or close/save/reopen drawing files.

We have tracked this requirement as internal ticket, and DID is FUS-238174.

Okay @liang_chen, but why will it expand all items, rather tan collapse them? What does it mean that you have tracked it as an internal ticket? Will it be fixed?

@christopher_hermansson , This feedback has been reported and will be planned for fixing by its priority.

Now the drawing browser status won't be maintained when open drawing files or switch drawing sheet. It will be back to default status that the first level of design node will be expanded. The best solution could be maintain the status of last used.

Let me tag @sandip_dumbare ; @Pramod.kadam and @anirudha_kulkarniHVD7C to be aware of this feedback for better issue prioritizing and planning.
