Drawing Templates Folder Not Working

Hi there,

First time poster here, relatively new to Fusion.

We are having an issue at our company where Fusion cannot find the Assets>Templates folder when creating new drawing.

We have created some new templates and saved them in Assets>Templates. See screen shot below.

However when we go to create a new drawing from a part there is no sign of the templates.

And when we hit "browse" to find the Assets>Templates folder we cannot see it in this menu.

Are we misinterpreting the intention of this template folder? It seemed like the ideal centralised location for our engineers to access templates. Anyone able to offer some help or insight into this?

Many thanks in advance.

Sam

Hi @sam_skelton

I know that this is going to sound counterintuitive. We can't actually browse to the Assets location when creating a drawing. "Assets" is supposed to be reserved for CAM tools, so although you can save a file there, it's not supported.

The best workflow is to create a folder called drawing templates in your project for the team to work from.

Across Fusion, we're currently consolidating libraries, the idea, is to make a drawings template library available, but this is some way off in the future as we plan, develop and build out the infrastructure.

Hi guys,

Many thanks for the speedy replies!

Good to know its not something on our end. Will make a separate folder as suggested.

Kind regards,

Sam
