Drawing partially hides

I have a problem displaying fusion 360 drawings on large / multiple screens. When zooming in, the bottom of the picture disappears as though expanding behind a white wall. Dimension text shows up but the lines of the drawing disappear. See attached screen print. This looks like a bug - but if  am missing something then happy to learn.

Just for grins and giggles, try switching your graphic display setting to OpenGL.  Be sure you are saved and out of everything because you will have to restart Fusion 360 when you do this.

John,

Injteresting thought but no joy. In fact led me to another aspect / problem. I do not get a response when cliking on my icon - i.e. cannot select preferences etc. - if the display is two screens high (moment of panic there!). Two screens wide, or reverting to one screen and there is no problem. I have a 2*2 screen setup. I also tried changing the paper size but that also made no difference.

Thanks,

Peter

This @petermat

Are you running on a Windows or Mac? What are your system specs? I'm interested to understand what graphics card you are running, and how you are splitting/stretching this over multiple screens.

Can you share more details?

Win 10 20H2. Four year old i7, 24 G RAM.Top left monitor driven by usb -> HDMI via Diamond converter -> DVI by adaptor. Top right VGA from MB, Bottom left HDMI from MB. Bottom Right DVI from MB. All at 1920 * 1080 though the bottom 2 have a 2560*1440 capability.  The cut off is at about half way down both lower monitors. However this position depened on where the lower edge og the Fusion window is. Changing the bottom to 2560 * 1440 makes no difference to where the drawing (partially) cuts off.

Hi @petermat

This could very well be a graphics issue. I didn't see a graphics card spec in there, but from my experience of supporting CAD systems on multiple monitors over the years, I have seen that sometimes performance is better when the CAD application is run on the primary screen. Some Graphics cards seem to allocate more resources to screen 1 (not sure which screen Fusion is on within your setup).

You can check which screen Fusion is on by following these steps:

If you are running an onboard graphics card, it is asking quite a lot of it to split the view over 4 screens and to run Fusion as well.

Musings. A few, maybe connected, things. Not sure what you meant by "CAD application is run on the primary screen." since when the problem occurs Fusion is running on all four screens. Also - even though the pc was shut down and restarted several times previously with the problem persistant, today it worked fine.  I hypothisised that it may be shortage of video memory. Both previously and today I had a lot of other stuff open Illustrator, Word Acrobat DC, Corel Draw etc. But today these were opened after Fusion, so maybe previously the other apps were grabbing video memory before Fusion requested some?? So I have gone none scientific in the quest for a solution. I increased the max video memory from 4G to 8G, and restarted. Ran lots of apps as above and then Fusion. All Ok. Will respond further in a few days if everything ok or when problem recurs if it does. Thanks for your comments.

Further info. Problem ocurs if the lower edge of the Fusion window is withing about 1/2" of the bottom of the bottom of the screen. Previously problem ocured With the Fusion window higher. Progress?

SUPLEMENTARY. In this setup the 'hand / zoom / fit  icon trio departs from the bottom of the screen. Is there any way of moving it out of the way?See it near the top right corner?

Hi @petermat

Are you trying to display Fusion across multiple monitors? If so I don't believe that this is something that we support. Does this issue go away if Fusion is displayed on only 1 screen?

Yes, and Yes. The days when people did serious work on only one screen are long gone in my view. And there have been complaints over the years about menues not apearing as expected when on the borders between monitors. Most or all of those problems have been fixed, so I am surprised at your suggestion that multi monitors are not supported.
