Drawing not updated from design

I have created a simple design with a few dimensions, saved it and then created a drawing with dimensions as well.

Then design was updated with a new dimension and saved, but nothing happens with the drawing. Link icon is gray and dimension not changed.

F360 version 2.0 16976.

Please attach the MODEL you are creating the drawing from.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section, of a forum post, to attach it.

From the attached video, you can see the associated drawing will request an update after changes are made to the model.  You need to create a video and show your process so the Forum users can see how you differ from what you see in this video.

@nhpV624N are you able to send the drawing and associated model file together as an F3Z.
When I make a drawing with the part provided everything updates and associates as expected.

The video show me what's the problem was.

I used save as with the same name.

After new design changes I just click save and that's it.

Drawing shows the varning icon and I updated it OK.

Almost didn't want to post this, but did you 1st save the model changes then open the model then update the drawing?

I know this is just like the very basic beginner thing - but I have done some rather splendid creative mistakes and oversights.

The model will not be updated in the drawing UNLESS THE MODEL IS SAVED AS A MILESTONE.

Hope this helps!

NB if the drawing won't update to the latest model, go back to the model. If you haven't modified the model, you can't save it.

So, move the timeline cursor 1 step back and 1 step forwards, it will then think you have modified the model which can then be saved as a milestone.

Milestone saves will be updated in the drawing.

I can't see the point in the non-milestone saves, all saves should be milestones.

I have this exact same issue and I am using version 2.0.19215. This version does not seem to have save as milestone either. (I remember having it in previous versions). Not sure what the issue is. After I update the drawing it shows the latest version of the design even though some dimensions are not updated.

I think I had the same issue as you. Drawings were not updating with the latest changes in the model. I noticed it was referencing a different version of the design though, an older one. I right clicked on the main drawing view in the browser, selected design history and selected the latest version of the design, then went back to the top three dot menu at the top and selected "Use". Problem solved. For now, Id say.  Seemed like it was just referencing an older version of the model and not updating with the get latest command. I'm not entirely sure to be honest, but it worked and I'm happy.
