Drawing creation is extremely slow when using custom templates

Creating a new drawing from an assembly is unbearably slow when I use a custom drawing template I have created that has a customised title block.  Fusion just sits there for almost 30 minutes to add a view during which time it is unusable.  This waiting also occurs if I try to create a section or detail view, or it the model is changed and the drawing needs a refresh.

This does not occur when creating a drawing without a template, and as far as I can tell has only started happening after updating to Fusion 2.021550.

I'll try to re-make a new template to see if that fixes the issue, but I doubt it.  This wasn't happening before.  Could you please take a look at this.  As a draftsman, I cannot to afford to wait for hours to produce drawings, nor can I charge my clients for "waiting for drawing creation."

My drafting templates were only 6 weeks old and worked great before the latest update.  I remade them again today from scratch and the performance is back to normal.

I hope I don't have to keep updating things to suit newer updates.

@vrpostcard , Can you pls share the old template files with us ? We want to check why the performance issue happens on that template. Thanks

Thanks for sharing the template. Testing the template in my side, I do not experience the perfromance issue, showing as attached video.

I notice that the auto center marks and lines are enabled in view settings. Are you working on 3D design with many holes feature/geometry? If so, it will add center mark/line for each hole, which may lead to performance delay.

Thank you so much @liang_chen .  That indeed was the issue.  Was staring me right in the face and I didn't even notice.  I'll now update the templates.

The slow behaviour in drawing is ridiculous and starting to become a showstopper for me. Unfortunately I did too many designs in F360 so too hard to switch, but having to wait a minute to show or hide a component (imagine using 20-30 components to hide show) in your drawing is ridiculous for such a paid software, I pay each year for it since years, I like a lot of features of F360 but this drawing option (as well as 3d sketching) really needs an update.

Edit: this morning is was almost impossible to work with, now it's back better but still too slow for complex designs

Hi @hansvaneven ,

Do you create drawing views with  all options of Auto center marks/lines on? It will cost a few time to create center marks/lines for all hole geometies. Checking them off will improve the performance.

If it is a different case, please share your dataset with us, and we can take a look the performance issue. Thanks

Thanks, no I didn't use these options, for an hour it was very slow and then it worked better still the drawing behaviour is way too slow for fast working and complex designs. thanks

Thanks for the feedback.

We have a few open tickets to improve the performance of drawing with complex customer dataset, and these tasks are pending in our backlog.

It will be great that we can get more customer datasets, and understand if it is a new or existing performance enhancement.  Thanks
