Hello! I hope you are all well.

Does anyone know why I cant flatten the item Beacon Band v1. I have modelled it in the other file and thought I had done it in such a way it would work! Perfectly even throughout.

Any advice gratefully received.

Many thanks

Cut edges not perpendicular to the face.

Also - unconstrained and overly complex sketches.

Need make only one Component and Pattern Components for the slats.

@ParametricScenicXYZ

I would not have marked as solution until you figure out the solution.

No workplanes other than the Origin planes are needed for this design.

I would not use Loft.

Cannot have compound curvature. (Would have to export to MeshMixer or Autodesk Inventor Professional to Unwrap).

How will you manufacture the compound curvature? (For this design you could probably get away with modeling extrudes/Trimmed surfaces/Thicken and be close enough.)

Again - consider that all slats are the same.

So sketch and model for only one - convert to Component and Pattern Component.

This entire design can be made from two very simple sketches (you will need to give information about manufacture of the compound curvature).

Or use @jhackney1972 solution.

Your model has some thickness irregularities but this is what I came up with for a flat layout.  Model is attached.
