Dissociated Association

In drawing mode, I create a linear dimension between two known points on the drawing. It says it's a dissociated association. This happens is about half the drawings I create. See attached.

in the last example, you might say that it happened because i'm trying to dimension across two views. not so. here's a dissociated association with dimension on the same view.

In this particular example, you are not zooming up close enough to pick the tangent point of the slot rounded end to straight slot wall.  You can also add sketches in the model and bring them over for slot center lines.  Screencast will illustrate.

Hi @tedbradley314

I've replied on the other thread that you started, as I feel these issues are related.

Thanks John. I didn't realize I could make sketches visible in the Drawing mode. I'll try that.

I've attached the original 3d model.

I still believe that, in general, Fusion 360 should not allow you to select "recognized" green-symbol points on your model, dimension them, and then immediately call them dissociated. Dissociated dimensions should occur only if you remove the feature source of the selected dimension end point in the 3d model, IMHO. That's what I would call a "user experience bug".
