Disappearing Files.

I am unable to open any of my previous file prior the last update. Every time I update I lose access to my editable files.
It happened with my last 2 updates.
In April I have updated and lost the access to files. I have created a new file (lenticular_cutter_holder),  it was the only working  but after I have updated again I have lost access even to that file. Now the "test" file is only accessible, a file I have created few days ago and since then I have made no update.
I have checked in browser mode, I could not find my  editable files there, files are missing.
I have attached a screenshot. That are my editable files and an error when I try to load them.
I am using a a free fusion 360 version. I hope someone can help.
Regards
Alexei

1. Can you let us know which version of Fusion you are on?

2. Also, can you please check this article? This should help solve the problem for you. https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Files-stuck-in-Edi...

1. Hello, my current Fusion version is  2602.1.25 x86_64.

2. I have tried the solution presented by you. I have deleted the login_ActiveDocuments file but nothing changed. Same issue as before, I can not open them.

I have accessed my online Fission account and I could not find the files anywhere. They are missing or moved elsewhere.  Please help, thank you.

@gubenco So all your files show up in Fusion data panel but when you try to open them you get the error that you may not have permissions?

1. Can you please do the following
2. Close Fusion
3. launch Fusion again
4. Open a file to generate the error
5. Now go to Help - Support and diagnostics - Fusion service utility - Gather system info - attach the Fusiondiagnosticsdata.zip file?

Hi @gubenco

I had a look at the logs, and I see the same permission errors. Fusion seems to think that you don't have access to the hub/projects you're trying to save into. When you go to view your data on the web, what is the URL you are accessing? Does it match  yahoo91931.autodesk360.com ?

  • If it's a different URL, try accessing yahoo91931.autodesk360.com. Does it show the designs you are looking for?
  • When you look in the project named "default project", what do you see? can you share a screenshot?
  • It looks like you should have a few projects named "New Project", do you see all of those when you view your hub on the web?
  • If you go to the 'admin' view of your hub, go to the 'projects' section. From there, you should be able to see all the projects. If you click on one, then click 'manage roles', make sure you have access to all of those projects.

Hello @karina.harper ! Thank you for viewing may log file. I have attached a screenshot. I can not find my files here in the "default" folder as it should be or anywhere else.

Hmm, can you take a screenshot of the results you see when you use 'search' for the names of those files, in Fusion Web and in the Fusion data panel?

Thanks,

Karina

I would like to know it there is a known issue with file automatic file erasure on fusion cloud? I did no action in order to cause this issue except I have  updated software 2 times. Each time I have updated I have lost my editable files. Is there any chance to recover them? Thanks.

Hi @gubenco

There are no other reports of lost data from other users. Usually in these cases there is either a permissions issue (either through data migration or accidental settings) or the files are being stored somewhere unexpected.

A couple things I notice in your screenshots:

  1. when you're searching for files in Fusion, you are only searching in 'editable documents'. Change the search filter to 'all data'. It's the little gray arrow to the left of the search bar.
    1. Screenshot 2025-07-07 at 10.41.40 AM.png
  2. When searching on the web, I see that you have a filter set to "shared with me". this might be impacting your search results. Change that to 'All Projects', and maybe try looking there again? It's quite suspicious that the search isn't returning anything with "5mm" when we can see that in the data panel as you are showing. There might be an error with Search on the web here. It seems to fail altogether for me if I have "shared with me" active in the left panel.

Cheers,

Karina

Hello Karina, I have searched through all data. Nothing. Is there anything else I can do to find the files? Thanks, Alexei.

Ok, thanks for trying that again. Did you try this step in my suggestion previously?:

  • If you go to the 'admin' view of your hub, go to the 'projects' section. From there, you should be able to see all the projects. If you click on one, then click 'manage roles', make sure you have access to all of those projects.

I'm wondering if the projects these are stored in you only have 'read' access for some reason. The 'manage roles' in that view should tell you/you should be able to make yourself an admin.

If you're still struggling, another option is to add me to your hub - in order to see the permissions I would need to be made an admin. If you're comfortable with that, my email is karina.harper@autodesk.com.

@karina.harper

Thank you Karina, I did it! I do not know what exactly I've made but now I have a new folder called "project Admin" with all my old files and their versions, Everything is back! I think I have tried to "manage role" to a folder in my admin console. I have tried to change my account role from "editor" to "admin" (which did not change eventually)  also in the "team member" tab I have pressed the button with "Make project admin" I have seen a green bar on top of the page with status change and a whole new folder appeared in the left with all my old files. It makes no sense to me but I am happy anyway. Now I prepare to save everything on my pc, I will export everything as fusion archive, a thing I just learned recently is possible. Thank you @karina.harper  and @RajkumarIlanchelian
