Dimensions in sketch

When I try to set a dimension between a point and a line or two between two lines, I click on the two lines it will give me dimension. But when I hit enter to change it, the two lines or the point will move together If I give it a dimension it move the opossite direction with the dimension I set.

I attach a video showing it.  This only started in the past few days.

And lots of other random behaviour in sketchs with splines ,like self constraining when lines more or less perpendicular are added to the spline even when the lines themselves are not constrained by any mean,

There are other posts on the Forum about this.  Here is one of them.  This user found it only happened in Fusion 360 running on a MAC.  Maybe you can try some of the suggestions shown in the post.

@10pindan

@0:11 Notice that before you enter your number for the dimension that there is an invalid equation in the box.

You can see this if you go to Parameters.

Given that you are 2nd or 3rd person to report this - looks like a bug in the program.

Delete it from Parameters or change to a valid equation (not sure why it shows as red - invalid though).

Press enter instead of entering your dimension.

You can clearly see the issue at 0:11 in the video that you posted.

Where is your line at 11 seconds? It is overtop of the datum you are dimensioning to.  This should not happen.

I think that what is happening is the line is snapping to a zero dimension because of the invalid equation.  Then you type in your desired distance overwriting the invalid equation. But because the line has snapped to zero distance - Fusion doesn’t know which way you want to go.

This was all observed in the referenced link.

What is also interesting is that at 9 seconds the horizontal preview dimension shows in fractional notation.

I normally use mm units rather than inch units, so I am not sure how this is set up.  I looked around in Preferences and did not see option. OK, I found this in Preferences.

Edit: I was able to reproduce the issue on Win 10 OS.

TheCADWhisperer_1-1690763667828.png

Default units as inches.

Foot and inch display format.

Reproduced the issue from scratch.

Hi,

This issue is logged and we are looking into it. In the meantime, you could use decimal display instead, as the issue is specific to fractional (and architectural).

Thanks,
