Dimension to sketch offset not fully constrained

Here I have one line and one offset:

Everything so far is working as expected.

If I delete the dimension to the line, and make a new dimension to the offset instead, I get this:

Screenshot 2019-09-13 at 12.01.29.png

Now the line and offset is shown in blue as not fully constrained. Indeed - I can drag the line to the other solution - see screencast.

This is not the behaviour I expected as one can not not normally drag to non-local solutions.

The top-point of triangle like this: ScreenShot2019-09-13T180600@2X.png can not be dragged down to flip the triangle to an other solution(as expected). -And the sketch is shown to be fully constrained(as expected).

Hi @hpekristiansen

This is because the original line is not constrained. Only the offset line is constrained. Since the original is still unconstrained, and the offset is dependent on the original line (and not vice versa) it is able to move around.

Does that make sense?

Cheers,

Karina

I understand what you are writing, but this behaviour does not make sense to me. There are other problems with offset, and I will post a new question/bug report.
