Dimension entry = Zoom Out.

It seems like since the last update, earlier this week I think. When I am in sketch mode and enter a dimension, as I hit enter my model zooms out to a 'zoom extents' look.

I usually sketch in an isometric view, and not a face view. This is definately new behavior.

Hi,

take a look at your preferences

scale at first.png

I prefer this setting because my sketch is then oriented to the size.

@g-andresen  The problem is a new feature that means if the scaled sketch is bigger than the view Fusion automatically zooms out. Trouble is it doesn't zoom to fit the sketch it zooms to fit the model, so if you are working on a large design it zooms out way too far. Here's a quick example, don't see this as very helpful once you unless only the sketch you're working on is visible.

@HughesToolingyou have illustrated and described it perfectly. So it's a new feature, not a bug!

It would make a lot more sense to me if it zoomed out then you hit finish sketch.

Not that I would use that anyway, the reason why I create a sketch is normally because I want to select the profile straight away.

Would be quite nice if it zoomed to fit the sketch on first dimension, bigger or smaller. I usually roughly sketch most of what I want in the sketch then add a dimension, so zooming to fit at this point would be helpful. Don't see it as very helpful how it is now, if it's going to always work this way then it needs a way to disable the zoom feature.

This is an incredibly unhelpful feature! There has to be a way of turning it off. I'm spending an inordinate amount of time zooming back into my sketch to see my work. Please enable a means of turning off this worthless feature.

this option will disable the "worthless" auto-scaling, and also the auto-zoom that goes along with it.  Note that the zoom only happens on edit of the first dimension in a sketch.  Subsequent edits will not auto-zoom.  Thanks for your super-helpful feedbackScreen Shot 2021-07-27 at 6.37.56 AM.png

@jeff_strater  I find this "Worthless" feature very useful! The auto zoom though, seems like it was not thought through or tested. Auto Zoom Should have it's own preference.

Thanks Mark

then, no, there is no way to separate the auto-zoom from the auto-scaling, sorry.
