Design "Cannot be saved"- Reservation failed, try saving again later.

Hello everyone,

I have big problem after recent update. Can't save design. I get info window with scroll list, that mostly say "not latest", and Reserved for main design ( multiple designs inserted). Tried clearing cache- nothing helped.

On other design I get information trough WebUI that some other using is currently editing the file- I'm the only one with access to this fill. Thanks to that, I can't save, delete or even create working copy of that design ( the same apply for first mentioned design) . Is there anything that I can do to fix this? Loosing days of work because of something like that is really not an option. Cloud and online aspect of Fusion 360 is often more dangerous than "unsafe" local only solution.

Hi @ArturSzczeparski@ckriesi

Sorry to see you're encountering this issue. This is a bug and we're looking into this as we speak.

Will you folks be able to invite me (anand<dot>somani<at>autodesk<dot>com) and my colleague @samarth.srivastava  (samarth<dot>srivastava<at>autodesk<dot>com) to your projects?

That'll really help us with the investigation and could also help us see if there can be any workaround possible in the meantime.

I tried logging off / rebooting / checked if all the cables are connected but nothing helps.

Mac OS 10.14.6 - Fusion360 2.0.9636 (Education license)

Re: inviting to the project - bit hesitant about that?! Especially since Samarth is not even listed as an employee. IP and things.

Unfortunately it's not an option- this is work for client which may not allow third person inside. I will try reproduce the same problem in other project to wich I will be able to invite you.

I tried just that (making a project, new parts..) and then saving is not an issue. So.. something with version compatibility?

Thanks folks. Fair enough.

Could you try below steps though? See if that helps.

1. Close Fusion 360.

2. Locate your Fusion cache files

Windows: C:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\***\

MacOS: Macintosh HD > Users > *** > Library > Application Support > Autodesk > Autodesk Fusion 360 > *** >

2. Search for .dat files starting with "NsCloudBrowserCache*" – Delete them or rename them. This is safe because this is just a cache and will be regenerated next time Fusion opens.

3. Restart Fusion 360 and try your steps again.

For additional clarity, about what @ArturSzczeparski mentioned in original post:

"I get information trough WebUI that some other using is currently editing the file- I'm the only one with access to this fill. Thanks to that, I can't save, delete or even create working copy of that design"

That's unfortunately due to a different issue. More info here: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-support/who-has-access-to-my-files/m-p/10001939#M110468

Most likely, the issue we see here about not being able to Save due to "Not Latest" reason – should be different and unrelated to the above one.

Same issue here... Fusion360 is now un-usable (except if you want to work on a projet for nothing of course)

FYI: if you break the link to any parts you have linked, it seems to work again. Obviously this is not an option for everyone.

Considering that I have around 50 parts that needs to be updated individualy  without entering main design, unfortunately it is not a feasible solution.

2 things:

1. As @ckriesi pointed out, breaking the links to inserted parts will allow saving the assembly. But that may not be acceptable for most folks.

2. For the design having the issue, we're noticing that sometimes closing the design and reopening it after about a min allows it to Save. We're still verifying it, but dropping this here if someone would like to give that a try.

I am having the same issue. Cannot save and all the linked parts in the files are listed as not latest.

I had this problem. I had to break links to inserted parts, then it saved.
