Decal Artifacts on cylindrical part

I am trying to add two identical decals to opposing sides of a hollow cylindrical body. When I add a decal, an artifact from it appears on the opposite side of the body. This artifact shows up in the modeling and rendering environments. The artifact changes shape as I pan.

I have unsuccessfully tried:

-checked/unchecked "chain faces" in the insert decal menu

-made the body both solid and hollow

-changed the physical material of the body to be non-transluscent

-changed the appearance to be non-transluscent

-tried making the body a component

-tried making the decal an appearance (saw this in other posts) but the result was unrecognizable

I have used decals many times in the past, including on cylindrical parts, but have not had this issue and I cannot think of anything else to remove these artifacts.

Attached:

Artifact1 - screenshot of Decal A with artifact from Decal B (shows as a vertical line)

Artifact2 - screenshot of artifact from Decal A with Decal B invisible (shows as a vertical line)

Artifact_design - export of my model - the artifacts appeared when I uploaded back into Fusion

While we are discussing decals - every decal I import into Fusion is scaled incorrectly and I cannot find the magic scale factor to use every time to scale it properly. I have searched the forums in the past and found many posts from 2016 but no solutions since. Is there a work around for this? Is there a scale factor I can use every time so my decal is the correct size?

Thanks

Brendan

I forgot to add - I can select the artifact as if it is an object

It looks like a bug to me. I created a cylinder and used my own image for a decal and got the same artifact. It does not show up on a flat surface.

Thanks for looking into this, hopefully the Fusion team sees this and looks into fixing it

Unfortunately I have not heard anything and have made no progress on fixing this issue. For my renders, I worked around this by hiding one of the decals and then rendering - luckily my geometries allowed me to do this. If you have one decal that interferes with itself you made need to break it up for rendering, although that is annoying

This decal artifact is still an issue.  It tends to happen when the decal is applied around more than half of the surface of the cylindrical part.  The artifact is the decal generally rotated and focused in the opposite surface.  The only way I have found to work around this is to use Split Face and split the surface up.  This allows you to select the face to apply the decal and deselect the "Chain Faces" option.

I can't say if this will work in all cases but has done the trick for me.
