Custom Materials (Fusion 360 / Mac) missing

So I've searched and it seems that materials management in Fusion 360 has been an inconsistent mess for years. But trying to live within the confines, I managed to create a custom appearance on Fusion 360 on Mac OS. Now I want to save it for use in future projects.

In the Appearance dialog, if I select [My Appearances] under Library it says "Create your online appearance collection by adding materials from 'In this Design'." But that option doesn't appear when I select the object and context(right) click (see attached image). Searching the forums I found other posts that suggested the 'Add to My Appearances' option should be in the context menu. Help?

It sounds like you have a pending update. Some cloud workflows are blocked during download of a new update.

To receive the update:
1. Restart Fusion 360
2. Wait for the update to start, you'll see a small 1 appear on the job status icon (the clock)
3. Click on the clock icon to watch the progress
4. Click Restart when the update is ready

Does that help?
