Creating walls from a solid

I don't really know how to describe what Id like to do properly.  What I've done already is created a shape for what I wanted.  I then deleted the bottom face and I expected I could find some way to create walls from these negative? faces.  I don't want to print an entire infilled cylinder, I just want to print the shape itself with, lets say, 5mm walls.  How can I do this?

Use Create > Thicken.

1. use shell command instead of deleting a face

2. Stitch and thicken the surfaces
