Creating Drawings, from simple non extruded 2D sketches?

Hello all,

I find myself creating simple drawings for co-workers, to show part dimensions etc. But when I try to make a drawing from a sketch, that hasn't been extruded to 3D, the lines are always broken. Is there a way to fix this, or do I just need to purchase AutoCad LT for doing these sort of drawings? Any advice is much appreciated. Thanks
